How to sell a car on Trade me

Firstly, I logged in trade me and i clicked “Car, motorbike or boat” from “Start a listing”. After that, I chose what I wanted to sell. I selected cars.

I put my plate number in this form.

The plate number shows car details so that I filled out mileage, rego and WOF expiry date and extra payment. If WOF is expired, I would choose “No”.

I am restarting to do road trip where I am going to write. I wrote about Hanmer Springs. I will write from Arthurs pass to Timaru.

Firstly, I went to Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve and Peel Forest before going to Arthurs pass. I walked in the nature in former one.

There were two falls in back one and I went to Emily Falls. The way to go there was a little mud. However, when I wanted to see the fall, I needed to across the river and go to way which was slippery.

I belonged to Explore Tekapo which I applied on backpackerboard. There were some jobs on this website. For instance, hosuekeeping, waiter and constracter.

I paid a kind of things recently so I am going to write about that.

Invoice from the judgement

Firstly, it was an invoice from the judgement. When I saw it, I thought I commited some incidents. Moreover, our company received it.

I sent email which I wanted to know detail to pointed email address for now. After that, I was called from the judgement to teach details.

Apparently, I did not change my living address so the invoice was sent to my previous workplace. It was a speed ticket which a camera measured automatically. I did not think it is a big problem. The fine was $218.

Moeraki Boulders Beach

Firstly, it was Moeraki Boulders Beach. There were a lot of big rocks.

I thought there were used as parts of ships. However, they were created naturally. The wave of ocean was perfect because if it had been too strong or weak, they would not have been there.

There were many rocks and we can ride on them and take pictures. It took for long time so I felt interesting deeply.

I am working in the company called “Explore Tekapo”. There are two accommodation which are a motel and private lodgings.

It is same to clean in which accommodation. Making bed is a little different, but it is almost same basecally how to clean.

There are 18 rooms in the motel and 6 rooms which are able to stay by 4 people have kitchen. Other rooms are stayed by 2 people and if customers need, we prepare a single bed. Each rooms have a shower, but there are the bathtub in some rooms.

Changing Engine Oil

Finally, I changed engine oil and oil filtter because the changing date has already passed. We change it when we investigate our car in Japan, but we just check it in NZ so I need to go the car service center.

I went to there. This is called “Oil Changer” and there are some shop in big cities.

This is the southern point in South Island of NZ. It took for 20 minutes on foot from parking area. It was amazing because the scenery was beautiful and I did not smell tide.

I found a house keeping job because I finished working at the peony farm. Actually, I was fired because there were enough people.

I found this job on the backpackerboard. I think it is easy to look for jobs because a lot of company hire in summer if I chose some jobs.

I work in the peony farm and the CaveStream is near here. It takes for 30 minutes by car. The sigh shows “CaveStream” which has water of stream in the cave.

I went there with managers and almost all of co-wokers. They looked so fun before entireing. They were not so loudly when they came back.

We do not have day off unless it is rainy so that I work every day. I googled about holiday and it depends on companies.

I went to the Waitomo cave before going to the South Island. It is close to Hamilton and you can see shining worms in the dark cave and go to the limestone cave. However, there is limestone caves in Japan.

These shining worms are named glowworm, Japanese name is “Tsutibotaru”. I guess firefly factor is just shining. They looks like thin long worms literally.

The ice skating rink was set at Aotea square in Auckland. I have never seen it in Japan, but it might be ordinaly oversea.

I went to ambury farm because my Thai friend recommended it. It’s free so anybody can enter it.

I saw bulls at first time. My imagination is that cows are female but I saw bulls there. The warning is written on the sign; Don’t approach their territory.

I have seen them a few times so I was surprised when I saw them. They moved their tongue to eat grasses so it was interesting. I felt complexed because tasty tongue is made of them.

I have been there for 5 months so I decided to obtain a NZ driver licence because I am going to extend for one year. You can access on the Japanese embassy how to get a driver licence so it should be fine basically if you follow it. I enjoyed a event called “ARMAGEDDON EXPO” which is held annual. It was held at the “SHOWGROUND” and almost all events are held there. The previous Easter event was also there.

There were a lot of people. Of course, many people did cosplay. Some people did high quality cosplay and other people dressed simple costume. In my opinion, if they enjoyed it, it should be fine.

I did the escape room at first time in New Zealand. I’ve never done that in Japan. I tried it because we could do it in afternoon activity.

However, I can’t upload photos and contents so I’ll write my thought. There is the Escapade nearby the Queen Street in CBD.

I think the cost which is $33 is as well as Japan’s. However, There is only one room so you might enjoy it in Japan. I’m not sure as I’ve never done it.

I went to Manukau Sports Bowl to watch dancing in NZ because of festival. I think it’s same with dancing which I saw before.

I looked around shops while watching other countries dancing and singing. The shops sold food, clothes and drawing body paint. This event wasn’t free.

First, I watched Samoan dancing. Samoan people enjoyed playing instruments and dancing. The music is great rhythm.

Second, I watched Niue dancing. This is similer to Samoan dancing. However, Niue people had a spear and posed like intimidated to rival.

I went to the aquarium so I introduce it. This place is SEALIFE. We can look around there for several hours because it’s not large.

There were historical materials firstly. I don’t remember there are them at the aquarium in japan.

This is like a snow tunnel through there. However, it isn’t cold inside so we enjoy walking through there.

I haven’t eaten SUSHI since I came here so I ate it. However, I ate SUSHI of package.

Salmon and avocado roll is right side, unagi is middle, raw salmon and avocado sushi is left side.

The Salmon tastes very normally. Probably, It’s similar to it and super’s salmon. I felt containing avocado is oily.

Unagi is chewy. I prefer Yanagawa’s unagi to it.

In my opinion, I don’t like avocado sushi. The avocado is used to abroad but I’m not sure. You try to eat it.

I went to Waiheke Island. I was recommended but I went to there because of doing winery tours. Basically, id doesn’t need to book about tasting. Some tasting need to book when there are good places or some bottle of wines.

Kiwidip is sinple. It is used potetochips. It is made of cream, soup powders and vinegar.

How to make easy. You mixed a can of cream, all soup powder and a small spoon of vinegar.

I tried various so I mixed a half can of cream and all soup powder. I don’t care that It was a bit strong. Some people feel they want a bit vinegar.

ホームステイ生活が1か月経ったのでその時の話

ホームステイ生活について

ニュージーランドに来て大体1ヵ月が経ちました。ホームステイが1ヵ月間だったので日本との違いを思い出せる範囲で書いてみようかと思います。

ホームステイ_水道と運転

共通しているのは水道と運転ですね。

水道水を飲むことができます。これは水の節約にもなるので個人的にはポイントが高いですね。日本で水道水を飲んでたわけではないですが、こっちは物価が高いので…

ただ、シャワーを使う場合は注意したほうがいいですね。ホスト次第ですが20分までと言われる家庭もあると思うので。私は特に言われませんでしたが、気を付けるようにはしてました。この辺の制約について女性は大変そうだなと思います。そんな話をしているのが聞こえたので…

トイレについては家庭によると思いますが、私は特に不便はなかったです。流れないや詰まったなどはなかったです。

それから運転です。もし郊外に住んだり、遠出をする場合は車が必須になるかと思います。ニュージーランドでは日本の車が良く使われているので、右ハンドル左側運転になります。日本と同じなので他の国よりは運転しやすいですね。ただ、道路関係の法律とかは違うと思いますが…

虫

こっちに来て感じたのは清潔感の違いですね。私のホームステイ先ではハエがちょくちょく飛んでます。たまにスプレーを巻きますが、湧いてきますね。この辺は家の人にもよると思いますが、苦手な人も多い気がします。

ちなみに布団に多くのダニがいたみたいで、来て数日ぐらいですごく噛まれましたね。すでに用意してあるベッドで寝る前にダニ除けのスプレーを使うことをおすすめします（笑）

ホームステイ先の食事

次は食事ですね。朝食についてはホームステイ先によって違うと思います。私のところは食べたいものがあれば勝手に食べてというスタンスですね。果物、シリアル、パンがあるので食べたければという感じですね。昼食はないので必要であれば買うか食べに行くかする必要があります。ちなみに私は昼食食べなくても問題ないような生活をしてたので、特に気にしてないです。

夜ご飯は様々ですね。日本米はないですが、他の国の米はちょくちょく食べます。バスマティライスは有名ですね。後はパスタ系の麺やハンバーガー、ピザですね。たまに炭水化物が出ないこともありますが、その時は大体ジャガイモ出てきます（笑）

少し驚いた部分で言うとサツマイモがありますね。マオリではクマラというらしいですね。それからニンジンが調理法によっては甘いことですね。日本だとハンバーグ屋さんとかであった気がします。

それからKiwi(ニュージーランド)の人たちは日曜にロースト系の肉を食べるみたいです。よくローストチキンを出されました。もちろんローストポークやローストビーフもありましたが。

ホストとの生活

私のホームステイのホストはあまり頻繁に出かけたりはしないタイプでした。買い物や仕事は別ですが、基本的に家にいてスマホを見るかテレビやドラマを見ていることが多いですね。もし、どこかに出かけたければ一人で行くことも考えたほうが良いかと思います。あるいは友達を早く作って一緒に行くかですね。

気候

後は気候ですね。夏の日が出ている時間ですが、朝の6時半ぐらいから夜の8時半まで明るいですね。遅くまで散歩してても明るいので、出歩きやすいとは思います。

そして夏ですが湿気が少ないです。そのため、日本ほど暑くなることはないですね。直射日光を浴びていれば別ですが、屋内や木陰にいる場合は若干寒気を感じることもあります。なので長袖を持っておくことをおすすめします。私は常に着てますし、日焼け対策にもなるので。

後は店での注文ぐらいだとは思いますが、外食をほぼしないのでわからないですね。注文前はExcuse meよりはHiやHelloを使ったほうがよいくらいですかね？Excuse meを使った時、微妙な顔をされたので。

これは余談ですが先生曰く「Kiwiの人たちよりブラジルの人たちのほうが明るい接客で良い」的なことを言ってました（笑）やっぱり元気にあいさつしたほうが良いのはどこも変わらなさそうです。

英語力

最後に英語力がどれくらい向上したかですかね？

私の考えでは日本人の英語力はある方だと思います。大学入試で上の方を狙うならなおさらです。参考として私は国立の底辺大学、通称「STARS」に所属していました。この記事を書くときはじめてSTARSという単語を知りました（笑）

日本人は中学から本格的に英語を学び、大学まで英語の語彙力や文法を学ぶので比較的高いと考えてます。ただ、聞く話すの機会がないので喋れない人が多いと言われます。ちなみに今私がLSIで学んでいる文法は中学で学ぶレベルです。ReadingとWritingなら難易度は低めに感じます。

こっちに来た当初はホストが話していることの30%理解できたかな？ぐらいです。今もそうですが単語から何を言いたいか予測して聞いてる感じですね。話すほうは全くできませんでした。よく使われるExactlyやThat’s greatも出てこない状況ですね。大体Yeahと言ってました（笑）

ちなみに今は50%くらいは理解できるようになったと思います。とは言っても話すスピードも速めでわかってない部分も多いですが。

ネイティブでない人の英語はまだわかりやすいと思います。特にLSIの学生だと文法が適切ではないですが、単語はわかります。相手もこちらと同様単語から言いたいことを予測して話しますので。ただ、国によってアクセントの癖があるくらいですね。

留学の目的と展望

留学したいと思う場合は留学先で就職、可能ならバイトではなく正社員で雇われることを目指すと良いかと思います。正社員レベルならカジュアルな英語だけでなく、フォーマルな英単語や文法も必要になると思いますので。

1ヵ月である程度聞くと話すができるようになったので、日本人がいない環境に身を置くのがおすすめです。英語を使えないと孤独になり生活するのも一苦労という状況は過酷ですが、確実に英語力は上がると思いますので。

英語力を伸ばす必要があるかと言われたらなくても今のとこ問題ないと思います。日本はまだ安全で緩やかな停滞を迎えつつもなんとかやっていける状況だとは思います。一生日本で暮らすなら無理に努力する必要もないですし。

終わりに

私は海外で生活できるようにしておきたいと思ったので留学とホームステイをすることを決めました。現状の日本だけで一生を暮らしていくことに不安があったので…

長々と書きましたが、これで以上ですね。日本を出ましたが食事や文化、国民性は好きなので可能ならやっぱり日本で平和に暮らせたらなとは思います。今の政治や経済を見ると帰りたいという状況ではなさそうですが、ぜひ頑張ってほしいなと他人事のように思います（笑）

というわけでこっちで英語力を少しずつ伸ばしながら仕事あるいは永住を目指しながら頑張りたいと思うこの頃です。ではでは。さらばpretty cat

Waitangi Dayとは

ニュージーランドでは2/6は休日です！Waitangi Dayという日になっています。この日はイギリス王室とマオリの酋長たちが条約を結んだ日らしいです。今も翻訳の解釈で議論があるみたいですが、不平等や課題に向き合う日を休日として制定したのは凄いですね。

イベントの内容

というわけで暇になったので今回はPoint England Reserveに行きました。今回はここでマオリの歌やダンスをやってました。

後はご飯ですね。独自のごはんというわけではないですが、変わったソースと肉？のようなものがかかったハンバーガーでした。名前までは忘れちゃったのですが、こんなハンバーガーです。

このハンバーガーは非常に食べにくいですね。手にソースがべったりついて中々大変でした。

ただ、味は良かったです。野菜は全くないですが、肉とチーズとソースがたっぷりですね。もちろんこのハンバーガだけではないですし、ダブルにしてボリュームを増やすこともできました。

あるいは他のお店で買うこともできます。ただ、メキシコ料理などもあったのでせっかくならということでWAITHANIハンバーガーを頂きました。

今度はロトルアでハンギを食べてみたいですね。いつ行けるか全くわかりませんが…

ご飯を軽く食べた後はショーをだらだらと見てました。子供たちが歌ってハカを披露したり、ラップやマオリに関わる歌を披露してました。こんな感じですね。

10a.m.から3p.m.の5時間ありましたが、ちょこちょこ休憩をはさみながら聞いてました。ステージ前は影がないので日光がきつかったです。

その他のアクティビティ

それからこの近くはビーチがありました。そこまで広くないですが、家族連れが楽しそうにしてました。釣りをしてる人もいましたが、何が釣れるんですかね？

という感じで休日を楽しんできました。次の休日は4月みたいなので楽しみに待ちたいですね。ではでは。

フラットをニュージーランドで借りた時の話

ニュージーランドでのフラット契約について

私は今週の土曜(2025/02/08)までホームステイを行う予定になっています。そこでフラットを借りたので、その時の話をしようと思います。

フラットを探す理由

まずフラットですが、ざっくり言えばシェアハウスと同じようなものと思っていただいて大丈夫です。基本的には知らない人同士ですが、友達とシェアできる場所もあります。

まずは私がフラットを借りようと思った理由ですね。最初はホームステイを延長しようと考えてました。ただ、1ヵ月だけお願いしようとしたところ、もし延長するなら最低2か月は欲しいという話がありました。

フラットの探し方

そこまでの予定はなかったので重い腰を上げて探すことにしました。最初に考えたのはニュージーランド大好きというサイトです。こちらでフラットの募集がおこなわれているので応募してみました。

最初に応募したところは割と安いところで週$160でした。内見をして確認しましたが、フラットは良いが個室がないのがストレスになりそうだったので辞めました。

少しそこで住めば個室も空くよという話がありましたが、週$240で光熱費は別だったのでここは諦めることにしました。

その後に探したのがTrade meですね。このサイトはフラットだけでなく、中古品の売買や車の売買、家や土地、更には仕事探しまでできます。当然ですが全て英語ですし、やり取りも英語です。

こちらのサイトを使った理由は選択肢を広げるためですね。先ほどのニュージーランド大好きというサイトは日本語でやり取りできますが、契約できるフラットの幅がかなり狭いです。もちろん英語ができないと感じればこちらでもよいですが、挑戦という意味でTrade meを使うのもよいと思います。

私はいずれ英語で契約できるようにしたいし、選択の幅を広げたかったのでこちらを使いました。

内見とやり取りについて

ざっくりと見てよさそうな場所を探して、よさげなところにメールをしました。これは貸す人によりますが、直接電話かSMS、メール、サイトからのメールなど様々です。

私はフレンドリーフラットという大き目の会社がたまたまやってたフラットに決めました。後から感じたことですが、個人に委託して契約してるような感じでしたが…

というわけでメールでやり取りをして内見を行いました。テキストのやり取りはAIに文を書かせられるので、大半の人は問題ないと思います。

SMSでどこにいますか？のやり取りをして現地で会った後、軽く世間話をして内見しました。1つ目は悪くないですが、同居人が女性で1対1かつ日本人でした。気を使っちゃうので他にありますか？と聞いてみました。一応事前に複数見たいという話はしておくと良いかもしれません。

2つ目は大部屋で私含めて5人ですね。1つ目と同様個室はあります。日本人もいましたが、一応他にフラットがないか聞いてみました。3つ目は日本人がおらず、同様の5人部屋です。もちろん個室ありです。条件はほぼ2つ目と同じで週$260で光熱費も含まれています。

本当はもう少し少ない人数が良かったのですが、大人数のシェアルームも経験してみるかということで3つ目にしました。一番の懸念はカップルで住んでるパターンですね。4人いて2男2女ですが、2組のカップルだった場合が最悪ですね。非常に気まずいです…

契約書について

家が決まったら契約書をもらいました。こちらはpdfで契約書に署名するのが一般的です。もちろん人によっては紙でしょうし、日本でも紙が一般的ですがこっちではpdfを使います。

pdfを受け取ったら内容をチェックしましょう。日本でも当たり前ですが、契約書や利用規約を確認するのは大切です。約束事ややってはいけないことなど書かれてますから。英語だと嫌になると思いますが、大丈夫です。私たちにはAIという素晴らしいテクノロジーがあります。

契約書に対して役立つツール

もし、AIを使うのに抵抗がある場合はGoogleレンズを使うと良いです。ただ、もし面倒であればNotebookLMがおすすめです。簿記の勉強の時も活用しましたが、ここでも使えます。もちろん他のAIでも大丈夫だと思いますが、私はこちらの方が馴染みがあったので。

内容をざっくり確認して問題なければサインしましょう。日本とは注意するポイントが違ったりしますので気を付けましょう。注意ポイントがわからないければ検索エンジンAIにでも聞きましょう。feloでもperplexityでもdeepseekでも大丈夫です。便利な世の中になったものです。

ちなみに私の場合は退去日が間違ってたので訂正してくださいと返信しました。2回目も間違ってたんですけどね…

契約書に問題がなければサインしましょう。サイン方法はいろいろありますが、面倒ごとに巻き込まれたくなければ電子署名に対応したアプリを使うのがおすすめです。有名なのがAdobe Acrobatですね。こちらであれば特に問題ないと思います。

ただ、私はスマホの電子署名を使用しました。Docusignというアプリになります。まあ特に理由はないので好きなものを使えばよいと思います。電子署名は改竄されないためですね。ペイントだと改竄の恐れがあるので、可能なら使ったほうがいいと思います。ペイントでも問題なさそうですが…

署名が完了したら

署名が完了したら提出して、残高証明書を提出します。ニュージーランドではフラット契約時に1週間前払＋ボンドを先払いする必要があります。1週間前払分は住み始めた翌週から再度支払が開始するので特に問題ないと思います。

ボンドは敷金みたいなものです。退去するとき特に問題なければ全額帰ってきます。ボンドは大体2週間分ぐらいですね。なので契約時は3週間分を前払することが多いと思います。

支払いが終わって支払い証明書を提出すればこれで契約完了になります。当日に鍵をもらって入居することになります。フラットによっては内見時にフラットメイトと会うこともあると思います。それも契約の判断になると思うので事前にあっておくとより良いと思います。

latinfiestaに行った感想

フェスに行ったことがないうえ、あまり外に出たがらないのですがせっかくなので行ってきました。ラテンフェスで南アメリカ系の音楽ダンスフェスになります。例えばブラジル、チリ、コロンビア、アルゼンチンあたりですね。

ブラジルの子供達の歌

14時ぐらいに行ったのでブラジル系の子供達が歌っているタイミングでした。元気に歌ってて楽器も楽しく弾いててよかったです。この時はあまり人が密集してないですね。

latinfiesta_Tangoレッスン

その後はTangoのレッスンをしてました。先生が前で踊りを見せながら、見ている人も一緒に踊るという状況ですね。Tangoは基本2人組で踊るみたいで、ペアをころころ変えながら踊ってた様子です。ちなみに私は苦手なので後方腕組マンとなってました（笑）

Tangoを見ていて感じたのは足運びと2人組がメインという感じですね。あまり上半身は動かさず、ステップのみでダンスをしていました。もしかしたら基本がこれで応用で上半身を使うのかもしれませんが…

ただ、ステップでも横、前、後ろと動き更に足をクロスさせたりして少し複雑さを感じました。楽しそうに踊ってましたが、覚えるのは大変なんだなと思いました。

Tangoのレッスンの後はダンスショーと音楽ですね。後ろだったのでパフォーマンスはほぼ見られなかったです（笑）写真でもあまり見えないですね。ステージの下で踊ってました。

メキシコの音楽

チリのショーの後はメキシコの音楽ですかね？mariachiと呼ばれるものでした。全くわからないですが民族音楽と最近の洋楽が混ざったような感じがしました。

日本では少ない気がしますがロングトーンでビブラートを出していると会場が沸きますね。私もすごいなーと思いながら聞いてました。途中から踊ったりもして楽しそうな雰囲気が伝わってきましたね。この辺から人がかなり増えてきました。

それからメキシコのダンスも見れました。ひらひらのドレスを両手で持ちながら回ったりドレスをぶん回したりしてました。

latinfiesta_Bachataレッスン

最後にBachataのレッスンをやってました。最後と言いましたが私がいたのがこの時までだったので、実際はDJやバンドが会場を盛り上げてたと思います。

こちらもTangoと同じようにステージの前でダンサーが教えてました。初めは一人でも踊れる奴でしたが、二人で踊るものもありました。

BachataはTangoよりも少し情熱的に感じました。体を少し重ねたりしながら動き、ターンを入れたりしてました。動きとしては細かいステップがメインでたまに大きく動くという感じですね。

この時間帯になると人も多く、日も出てより情熱的に感じました。相変わらず私は見てただけですが、皆さん楽しそうに踊ってました。

こんな感じでlatinfiestaでの1日を終えましたが、なかなか刺激的な日だったと感じます。明日まであるみたいなのでせっかくなので見てみようと思います。ちなみに明日はサンバレッスンがあるらしいです。ではでは。

NZに来ていくつかやった申請系で苦戦したこと

国際線の乗り継ぎで苦労したのですが、こっちに来てからもいくつか苦労したので振り返ってみようと思います。

LSI(Auckland)に入学して1週間が経った感想

ニュージーランドに来てLSI(Auckland)に入り、1週間ほど経ったのでどんな感じか書いていこうと思います。

LSI(Auckland)_授業の様子

初日に関しては多少書いたので省きます。2日目以降では授業ですね。テキストに沿いながら授業は進めていきますが、なくてもコピーが配られますので買わなくても大丈夫です。

1回の授業で進むスピードは数ページになります。だいぶゆっくり進むので日本のように詰め込むような感じではないですね。

それからテキスト通りやることもありますが、他にもいろんなことをして理解を進めていきます。例えばパートナーを作ってお題の会話をするという感じですね。

もう少し具体的に言うと"Do you like doing housework?“というお題を出されますね。これに対してパートナーと一緒に会話をするという感じですね。パートナーは大体隣の人になります。たまに別の人と組んでくださいと言われたりもしますが。

たまに外に出て色々と見て回ったり、何かしらのゲームをしたり、チームを作って対抗でゲームをしたりという感じですね。最後に金曜にテストがあって、大体3回ほど8割取れれば次のレベルまで行ける感じですね。

LSI(Auckland)のクラスメイト

最初にクラス分けを行うときは割とランダムになります。LSIも日本人が多いみたいですが、クラスによっては1人だったりします。ちなみに私のクラスは4人くらいいますね。全員女性なうえ女性比率が高いので若干居心地悪く感じちゃいますね。この辺は運次第なのでしょうがないですが…

さて、クラスによって人種も様々です。多いのはブラジルですが、韓国、台湾、タイ、チリ、ヨーロッパなど様々です。年齢は比較的若い人が多いですね。10代から20代前半が多いです。たまに30、40、50代もいるみたいです。

積極性の重要性

LSI(Auckland)に入学して改めて感じたのは待ちの姿勢はダメですね。これはよく言われることですが、いっぱい話すほうが良いですね。ネイティブの人だと文法がバラバラだと理解してくれない部分も多い気がします。ただ、生徒は発音が微妙でも単語で察してくれます。

文法については英語が文法で意味を理解する部分もあるからですね。日本は単語さえわかれば前置詞や文法が変でもなんとかなります。英語は前置詞にもイメージがあり、置き場所を変えると理解してくれない部分がありました。生徒のほうはある程度理解してくれるんですけど…

例として私が仲良くなった人の話をしてみます。彼は韓国人なんですが、いろんな人に話しかけてますね。私のような日本人はもちろんですが、ブラジル、台湾、チリ、タイなどいろんな人と話しています。もちろん自国やアジア系の人が話しやすそうにしてましたが、すごいなと思いながら聞いてました。

私は陰キャなので日本人相手ですら気後れしちゃいますが、あんな感じで色んな人と積極的に話してみたいなとも思いました。今後の課題の一つですね。

個人的には割と楽しめてます。授業も楽しいですが、なんとなくで聞いて話して、案外意思疎通できるもんだなと感じました。

学習方法

一応帰ってからも勉強するようにしてます。文法はもちろんですが、やっぱりリスニングですね。私の場合はTED Talksを聞いてます。そこで字幕見ながらまずは内容の理解。次に英語の発音を聞いて、どんな発音をしているか？どのように音が繋がっているか？ということを把握するようにしてます。

そのうえで1.5倍速で聞けるようになれば、段々理解できるようになりました。ただ、知らない音のつながりや単語はまだわからないですが。

終わりに

というわけでこの調子で英語の上達を頑張っていきたいですね。他にも銀行口座の開設や海外送金、IRD番号取得、フラットの契約などやることも多いので1つ1つ覚えていきたいですね。ではでは。

国際線でNZに行くまでにあったことやLSI初日の感想など

国際線の出来事とLSI初日

前回記事の投稿に時間が空きましたが、ニュージーランドに向かっていたので投稿が遅くなりました…

国際線やLSI初日で経験してわかったこともあるのでいくつか書いてみようと思います。これは飛行機に乗る前の食事で美味しかったです。程よく牛肉がとろけて味もしっかりついていて今度は現地で食べたいですね。

国際線を使って中国でのトランジット

私が飛行機に乗ったのが2025/01/10になります。まずは国際線で広州(中国)へ向かいました。ただ、乗る前の重量制限で引っかかりました。20kgまでだったのですが、多少オーバーして3000円払うことになりました。手荷物のほうに一部動かしていれば問題なかったんですけど。フライト自体は大体4時間くらいかかりました。乗った時は特に何事もなく到着しました。

ただ、中国に到着した時が大変でした。最初に感じたのはカメラの数がかなり多いなということです。もちろん他の国でもカメラは存在しますが、1m間隔くらいであった気がします。中国にもファミマがあったのは知らなかったですね。特に利用はしてないですが。

後は親切かわからないぼったくりですね。到着したのが第一ターミナルで出発するのが第二ターミナルでした。第二ターミナルは第一ターミナルから離れていて、シャトルバスか電車、タクシーで向かう必要があります。

何もわかってなかったのでどうしようか悩んでいたところに話しかけた方がいました。そのままのこのこ着いていってタクシーに乗っちゃいました。

さらに現金はニュージーランドドルしか持っていませんでした。払うときに相手もどのくらい必要かわかってなかったので、60NZD払う羽目になりました。日本円だと5400円くらいですね…勉強代として今後同じ目に合わないように気を付けます。

国際線でオーストラリアまでの乗り継ぎ

次は中国からシドニー(オーストラリア)に向かいます。そういえばチェックインの時にシドニーと言って通じなかった気がします。オーストラリアは通じるみたいですが、知識さは人によるかもしれません。

それから検査場が独特でした。広い空間でありますが、検査する場所自体は壁で区切られていて狭さを感じました。他の国だとあまり見なさそうな雰囲気ではありましたね。

飛行機内の出来事

最後に飛行機に乗り込んだ時ですね。R64Aという書かれ方をしていましたが、Rの除いた文字がシート番号になってました。なんでRがついてるのか不思議です…

自分の席を見つけたとき、中国人が私の席に座ってました。2席占領しているようなイメージですね。念のため後ろの人に席が合ってるか聞いてみて、合ってたので声をかけてどいてもらいました。不機嫌そうでしたが、他人の席なのでやめてほしいですね…

ここで9時間のフライトが待っています。私はずっと座りっぱなしだったので、エコノミー症候群にならないよう頻繁に足を動かしてました。そのうえ寝れなかったので、かなりしんどい状況になりました。機内食はまあまあの味です。

国際線でオーストラリアに着いて目的を訪ねられました。ただ、私のチケットはスルーバゲージ対応のチケットみたいでした。つまり機内荷物は次の飛行機に運んでもらえるということです。というわけでトランジットの検査場に行き、検査が終わって出発ゲートに向かいました。

ただ、トランジットチケットの場合は出発ゲートで国際線の航空券と変えてもらう必要があります。受付の人に名前を呼ばれてたので、何かと思ったら航空券取得の処理が必要だったみたいです。

国際線を使用してオークランド到着

それ以降は特に何事もなく進み、オークランドに到着。送迎オプションがあったので迎えがいたのでそのままホストファミリーの家に向かいました。知らない人かつ言語もあまり通じない状況なので不安でしたが、かなり親切にしてもらいました。

ちなみに今の私は相手の言ってることの30%ぐらいしか理解できてません（笑）知ってる単語をピックアップして、そこから状況を連想して理解するようにしています。よくわかってなくても大体"Yeah!“や"Oh"と言って笑顔で乗り切ってます。質問されてわからなかったら再度聞き直す流れですね。

もう一つ話すときは大体言葉が出てこないですね。日本語としてこう言いたいけど、該当する英語がすぐに出てこないという状況ですね。日本語でも稀にありますが、英語だとこんなにも出てこないんだなと実感しました。調べると割と知ってる単語だったりするんですが…

LSIでの学習

そしてLSI初日になります。最初はリスニング、スピーキング、文法のテストですね。Level2(初級)からのスタートになりました。段階としてはLevel1~6まであります。Level3スタートだろう！とか思って自惚れてましたが、頑張っていきたいと思います。

オリエンテーション後はLessonに参加して解散になりました。人によっては午後もありますが、私は水曜と木曜に参加することになってます。一般英語の20なら午前中のみ、24なら一部午後、30ならフルコマという感じです。

アクティビティややってみたいこともあったので24にしました。留学の目的は英語力の向上ですが、友達を作ったり経験することも大事だと考えているので。もし英語に自信があれば資格やビジネスに特化したコースでもいいと思います。

終わりに

そんなこんなで特に友達を作ることもなく帰宅して今に至ります。まだまだやることは山積みですが、少しずつ消化してNZ生活を満喫していきたいと思います。ではでは。

おまけでホストファミリーの猫です。めっちゃ可愛い！顔を掻いてほしくて寄ってきます。私は猫専用孫の手として1か月間頑張らせていただきます！
